Caribe Hospitality, one of the most important developers in Central America, will begin construction of a sustainable hotel in Alajuela this year.
The work will be financed by BID Invest, a member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, through a $5 million loan.
The 120-room hotel, located in the Mango Park resort, will be operated by Marriott International under the Fairfield brand and will meet the demand of free zones, logistics companies, and the recently opened convention center.
Its market positioning will focus on the business, meeting, and transit passenger segment, given its proximity to the airport.
In addition, it will enjoy LEED Silver certification, to promote energy efficiency and sustainable consumption in the tourism sector in Central America.
Caribe Hospitality has projects in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, El Salvador, Mexico and Jamaica.
In September 2018 it opened a 126-room hotel, the AC Hotel by Marriott in San Jose, the first lifestyle hotel in its portfolio.
